San Francisco beach brawl erupts at Crissy Field

A physical altercation occurred on Tuesday at Crissy Field in San Francisco after a confrontation between two men escalated into a brawl on the sand. The incident was captured on video and witnessed by bystanders.

One of the men involved, James Hidalgo, stated he was walking his dog when an unidentified man approached him and began shouting. Hidalgo, a martial arts instructor and former United States Marine, reported that the man asked, “Are you calling me a dog?” after seeing the pet. Hidalgo claimed he attempted to defuse the situation, but the encounter turned violent when the other man allegedly tried to punch him. Hidalgo stated he pinned the individual to the ground until law enforcement arrived.

United States Park Police responded to the scene and handcuffed both men for questioning. Hidalgo was released following a medical evaluation by paramedics, while the other man was taken into custody by police.
