San Francisco completes LED street lighting upgrade in eastern sector

The Municipality of San Francisco has completed the renovation of the public lighting system in the eastern sector of the city. The project concluded with the activation of LED lighting in the Villa Golf area, marking the completion of the replacement of all luminaires along the city's eastern axis, stretching from the provincial border to North and South Libertador Avenue.

The decision to prioritize the eastern axis was based on urban security needs and crime mapping, which identified areas where improved lighting could strengthen crime prevention. The upgrade involved replacing approximately 4,300 luminaires with LED technology to provide better visibility, uniformity, and light quality at night.

Mayor Damián Bernarte highlighted that with the completion of these works, 100 percent of the eastern axis of San Francisco now features LED lighting.
