San Francisco de Macorís advances key infrastructure projects

The municipality of San Francisco de Macorís is undergoing a gradual process of addressing long-standing infrastructure and social demands. Under the administration of President Luis Abinader, several historical projects have begun to move from planning to execution.

Key pending and ongoing projects include the expansion of the San Francisco–Controba highway, the Jaya River marginal road, a new wastewater treatment plant, the completion of the Dr. Ángel María Gatón University Regional Hospital, and the construction of a bypass.

Local leaders, including Senator Franklin Romero and the Association for the Development of the Duarte Province (ADEPRODU), have been noted for their active roles in monitoring these works and advocating for the municipality's needs. However, residents continue to call for further developments, such as the construction of a dedicated House of Culture.
