San Francisco de Macorís hosts cancer awareness walk

The Patronato Contra el Cáncer del Nordeste organized the “Donando Pasos, Regalas Vidas” walk in San Francisco de Macorís on Sunday, October 25. The event aimed to promote cancer prevention, raise awareness, and show solidarity with oncology patients and their families.

Fátima Fajar, president of the Patronato, emphasized that the initiative serves as a symbol of community support for those facing the disease. She highlighted the organization's commitment to providing both medical care and emotional guidance, noting a specific goal to advance a project for a linear accelerator to expand specialized care.

The National Police's Northeast Regional Directorate provided security and public order assistance throughout the route, which began at Parque Duarte and concluded at the Ciudad Agropecuaria del Nordeste. The event received support from local authorities and sponsors, including Banreservas.
