San Francisco de Macorís shooting investigation: five suspects linked to fatal shooting

Authorities in San Francisco de Macorís are investigating the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Héctor Luis Paula de Jesús, known as “Tata,” in the Los Grullones sector. The attack occurred on the night of October 4 on Juan XXIII Street, where two individuals on a motorcycle allegedly opened fire on the victim.

Five individuals have been linked to the investigation through various means. Fredery Peña Polanco, 18, and a 17-year-old adolescent are currently in custody. Other individuals, including Deivison Herrera Monegro (alias “El Chino”), Anthony Miguel García, Brailyn Alexis, and Brayan, have voluntarily presented themselves to authorities. While some, like García and Brailyn Alexis, have denied involvement and claimed to have alibis supported by security footage, they remain part of the ongoing inquiry.

During the investigation, a 9mm Taurus pistol and a black Tauro Fénix 105 motorcycle, believed to be the instruments used in the crime, were surrendered to the police. Forensic technicians recovered eight 9mm shell casings at the scene. The case has been referred to the Public Ministry as investigators look into potential prior conflicts between the parties involved.
