San Francisco Giants awarded 2028 MLB All-Star Game

Major League Baseball has announced that the San Francisco Giants will host the 2028 All-Star Game at Oracle Park. This marks the fourth time the franchise has hosted the Midsummer Classic, with previous games held at Candlestick Park in 1961 and 1984, and Oracle Park in 2007.

MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred stated that San Francisco will be an “outstanding host” due to its rich baseball history and passionate fanbase. The 2028 event follows the 2027 All-Star Game, which is scheduled to take place at Wrigley Field in Chicago.

The announcement comes amid ongoing discussions regarding player participation in the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. While the All-Star festivities are set for July 10–12, 2028, disagreements persist between MLB, the Players Association, and Olympic officials concerning logistics and mandatory participation agreements.
