San Francisco hosts Outside Lands and Stern Grove music festivals

San Francisco hosted two major musical events in August 2026. The Outside Lands festival took place from August 7–9 in Golden Gate Park, featuring a musical lineup that included Charli xcx, The Strokes, and RÜFÜS DU SOL.

Outside Lands also emphasized regional culinary culture, hosting 100 Bay Area restaurants representing 53 different cuisines. Notable local establishments such as Original Joe’s, Perry’s, and Balboa Cafe participated in the food and drink program.

Separately, the Stern Grove Festival concluded its 89th season on August 16 with a Big Picnic concert. The event featured soul singer Al Green, Goapele, the Glide Ensemble, and the Change Band. The performance, held at Sigmund Stern Grove, drew an audience of approximately 12,000 people and included calls for donations to support the tradition of free concerts in the city.
