San Francisco Playhouse premieres Aaron Loeb’s ‘R. O. I. (Return on Investment)’
The San Francisco Playhouse is hosting the world premiere of ‘R. O. I. (Return on Investment)’, a new one-act play by Aaron Loeb. Running through September 5 at the Creativity Theater, the production explores the high-stakes world of health technology and venture capital.
The drama follows the rise and fall of a ‘unicorn’ investment. The story centers on Paul Montrose, a veteran partner of a Silicon Valley investment fund, and his protégé, May Lee. Their lives intersect with Willa McGovern, a scientist who has developed revolutionary diagnostic tools. As the company grows, the play examines themes of personal ethics, authority, and the shifting dynamics of gender, race, and class within the tech industry.
