San Francisco Symphony to host Day of the Dead celebration
The San Francisco Symphony is hosting its annual Day of the Dead celebration at Davies Symphony Hall. Curated by Martha Rodríguez-Salazar, this year’s event focuses on the traditions of Tlaxcala, Mexico, specifically highlighting its firefly sanctuary.
The festivities will include Latin American music, large-scale art installations by local artists, arts and crafts stations, and costumed performers from Casa Círculo Cultural. The concert program features works by composers such as Carlos Chávez, Luis Farfán Carrillo, and Arturo Márquez.
