San Francisco woman severely injured in pit bull attack

Amber King, a woman residing in San Francisco, was severely injured after being mauled by a large pit bull in the Tenderloin neighborhood. King stated she was attempting to help a man who was moving and had agreed to watch his dog. While the animal was tied to a post, it somehow broke loose and attacked her.

The attack lasted between 10 and 15 minutes. King reported using her arms to shield herself from the animal, resulting in devastating injuries to her hands. She underwent multiple surgeries at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and continues to face significant physical damage and psychological trauma.

San Francisco police responded to the scene on Larkin Street, where they found King bleeding and the dog nearby. A bystander attempted to intervene before an officer restrained the animal with a catch pole. The pit bull died at the scene before animal control officials could arrive.
