San Gemini hosts 53rd Giostra dell’Arme medieval festival

The town of San Gemini is hosting the 53rd edition of the Giostra dell’Arme, a medieval festival running from September 26 to October 11, 2026. The event honors the patron saint, Santo Gemine, through a series of parades, exhibitions, and traditional culinary offerings in the Rocca and Piazza districts.

Key highlights of the festival include weapon and fire shows, religious processions, and historical parades. The festivities culminate on October 11 at the Campo de li Giochi with an equestrian competition where knights from the Rocca and Piazza districts compete for the Palio.

As part of the official program, the ‘Agostino Tabarrini’ flag-waving school recently held a performance in Piazza San Francesco. Over twenty students aged 8 to 12 demonstrated their training through coordinated flag movements, highlighting the community's efforts to pass historical traditions to younger generations.
