San Gerardo Hospital investigates mosquito infestation in Monza

San Gerardo Hospital in Monza is investigating the cause of a persistent mosquito infestation affecting its emergency room. The hospital management issued an open letter to citizens acknowledging the discomfort caused to both patients and staff, noting that the issue has persisted for several months.

Despite multiple disinfestation efforts and the installation of 18 UV/insecticide lamps, the problem has not been definitively resolved. The hospital cited the complexity of the facility, which includes over 25,000 square meters of shafts, foundations, and confined underground spaces that are difficult to access. A specialized company is being sought to identify the root cause and implement a lasting solution while maintaining hospital operations.
