San Gimignano hosts cultural events for Giovanni Boccaccio Literary Prize

The summer cultural festivalAccade d’Estate’ continues in San Gimignano, featuring a series of events organized by the Giovanni Boccaccio Literary Association in collaboration with the municipality. The program serves as a prelude to the 45th edition of the Giovanni Boccaccio Literary Prize.

Scheduled events include presentations by Ermanno Cavazzoni regarding his relationship with Gianni Celati, and Riccardo Nencini, who will discuss the life of journalist Oriana Fallaci. The literary series concludes on August 25 with Agnese Pini, an editor and journalist, presenting her memoir ‘La verità è un fuoco’ in Piazza Duomo.

Following the literary events, the festival will transition to musical performances, such as ‘ArchiAmici Vivaldi’, and the ‘SanGin’ event at the Rocca di Montestaffoli. The winners of this year's Giovanni Boccaccio Literary Prize—Rosa Montero for Literature, Francesco Costa for Journalism, and Julio Velasco for Ethics of Communication—are scheduled to be honored in Certaldo on September 12.
