San Gimignano launches €70,000 inclusive playground upgrade

The municipality of San Gimignano approved a €70,000 project to renovate playgrounds in several neighbourhoods, with the main work centred on the Belvedere district’s Piazza Martiri della Libertà. The overhaul includes new inclusive equipment—a monoblock table with integrated benches suitable for wheelchair users—and a rubber anti‑fall surface around the slide and swing.

Additional upgrades will be carried out in Le Mosse, Santa Lucia and Santa Chiara, such as replacing fences, installing a volleyball net, and refurbishing a mini‑football field. Mayor Andrea Marrucci said the improvements are part of the town’s policy to enhance public spaces, promote social inclusion and raise the quality of life for families and children.
