San Giovanni in Marignano hosts successful wine festival
The 26th edition of the Capodanno del Vino and Palio della Pigiatura in San Giovanni in Marignano saw significant success following the introduction of a new two-day format. The event expanded to include both a contemporary celebration and a traditional historical reenactment.
The festivities began on Saturday with the ‘Capodanno d’autunno’ in Piazza Silvagni, featuring music from Birri Medi and DJ Joker. At midnight, a toast to the new wine year was held in collaboration with local wineries and the Strada dei Vini e dei Sapori dei Colli di Rimini.
On Sunday, the town center transitioned to a historical theme, recreating life from the early 1900s through ancient trades, music, and dances. During the weekend, approximately 1,200 tickets were sold, resulting in roughly 3,000 wine tastings. Additionally, 16 crates of grapes were pressed during the Palio and the ‘Pigiatura dei Bimbi’ event.
