San Giovanni La Punta school floods after 2-million-euro renovation

The Enrico Fermi complex of the Giovanni Falcone Institute in San Giovanni La Punta experienced significant flooding following heavy rainfall on September 16, just one day after the start of the new school year. The flooding affected the assembly hall and corridors near classrooms.

Regional deputy Lidia Adorno has filed an inquiry regarding the incident, noting that the building recently underwent a 2-million-euro renovation and safety upgrade funded by the Regional Civil Protection Department. Adorno is calling for investigations into whether the works were performed correctly and if technical testing and inspections were conducted prior to the school's reopening.
