San Giovanni Reatino Opens Temporary Dormitory for Heat‑Wave Relief

The Consorzio Sociale RI1 has activated an extraordinary opening of the dormitory at the San Giovanni Reatino post‑office building to cope with a severe heat emergency. The service runs from 16 July to 31 August 2026, daily from 08:00 to 20:00, providing a cool, safe space for people without fixed homes and others vulnerable to extreme temperatures.

The measure follows a red‑alert heat warning and is funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) under Mission 5, Component 2, Investment 1.3 for temporary housing and post‑office stations. The consortium also calls on the public to report anyone in need of assistance.

The facility aims to protect residents of San Giovanni Reatino, Italy, from heat‑related health risks during the projected high‑temperature weeks.
