San Giovanni Rotondo to host Mother Teresa relic and environmental celebrations

San Giovanni Rotondo will host several religious and cultural events in September 2026. To mark the 39th anniversary of Mother Teresa of Calcutta’s visit to the area, the Parish of the Transfiguration of the Lord will host her relic from September 12 to 20. The program includes a series of Masses, an exhibition on her life and works, and a visit to the ARSSA Mother Teresa.

Additionally, the Laudato si’ Community is organizing initiatives for the “Season of Creation,” themed “Living Water.” These activities include a virtual photography exhibition showcasing the water landscapes of the Gargano region and the fifth edition of the “A Voice for Creation” music festival on September 5. The community's program aims to combine spirituality with environmental awareness and local territory valorization.
