San Giovanni Valdarno residents demand more patrols after central home burglary

A residential burglary in the center of San Giovanni Valdarno on Via Trieste has prompted calls for increased security measures. The incident, which involved significant damage to a home, was reported by the Liste Civiche Sangiovannesi political group following a complaint from a local citizen.

The group noted that this event follows a series of recent thefts, attempted break-ins, and incursions targeting both private residences and local businesses. While the Bani district has long been identified as a vulnerable area, the recent burglary in the city center has raised concerns regarding the expansion of criminal activity into more central locations.

In response, the Liste Civiche Sangiovannesi are calling on local institutions and law enforcement to strengthen territorial presence. They are specifically requesting continuous and visible patrols, including increased local police presence, to improve prevention and ensure the safety of residents and shopkeepers.
