San Giuliano Terme council faces budget and conduct disputes

The San Giuliano Terme City Council is facing scrutiny over both financial management and conduct during recent sessions. Councilman Simone Fabbrini of Futuro Nazionale has criticized a 90,000 euro budget variation intended to cover costs for a Fiorella Mannoia concert held at Parco della Pace. Fabbrini suggested the total expenditure likely exceeded 180,000 euros and argued that the municipality needs a long-term cultural strategy rather than isolated, expensive events.

Separately, political tensions have escalated following an incident during a council meeting. Giovanni Pasqualino, provincial secretary of the Lega, condemned the treatment of opposition councilwoman Ilaria Boggi. Pasqualino stated that Boggi was reportedly told to leave the chamber in an intimidating manner, an action he claims lacked immediate reprimand from the Mayor or the Council Presidency. The Lega expressed solidarity with the opposition, emphasizing the need for institutional respect and democratic debate.
