San Giuliano Terme establishes new Youth Council

The municipality of San Giuliano Terme has established a new Youth Council (Consulta dei Giovani) to integrate younger perspectives into local political and administrative decision-making. The council will consist of between 13 and 25 residents aged 14 to 18.

Members will be appointed by the mayor in coordination with the municipal government and the president of the City Council. If applications exceed available seats, selection will consider gender balance, age distribution, territorial representation, and the candidates' motivations and previous experience in school, sports, or volunteer work.

Mayor Matteo Cecchelli stated that the council is a vital consultative tool intended to increase youth involvement in municipal choices. Youth Policy Councilor Roberta Paolicchi noted that the council will provide advice on various administrative matters, including culture, art, sport, environment, urban planning, and sustainable mobility.
