Favischio and Cerqua resume San Giuseppe da Leonessa and Santa Giusta celebrations

From 14 to 17 August 2026 the villages of Favischio and Cerqua in the province of Rieti will host the annual festivities honoring San Giuseppe da Leonessa and Santa Giusta. The program opens on 13 August with the third edition of the Super8 Festival “Le Nostre Radici”, featuring historic film screenings, followed by a local pastry distribution.

Key events include the “Cantine Aperte” food tour on 14 August, a traditional holy mass and procession on 17 August led by the Nerola Musical Band, and an evening of open‑air dinner, live music by the Suonami Band, tournament awards and a final fireworks display.

The multi‑day celebration aims to showcase the area’s cultural heritage, gastronomy and community spirit, especially as the towns recover from the 2016 Amatrice earthquake.
