San Giuseppe Vesuviano ex‑mayor demands halt to municipal tax tender

Former mayor Antonio Agostino Ambrosio of San Giuseppe Vesuviano submitted a strongly worded complaint to the Prefect of Naples, the regional prosecutor, the Court of Auditors and the National Anti‑Corruption Authority (ANAC). He called for the immediate suspension of a five‑year tender for the collection of municipal taxes (IMU, TARI, property tax and related services) whose offer deadline is set for 3 August 2026. Ambrosio argues that the tender was launched on “radically illegitimate” legal grounds, citing procedural violations and the unlawful delegation of powers reserved for the municipal council. He demands an investigation into possible administrative and accounting responsibilities and urges oversight bodies to intervene, accusing the municipal secretary‑general and the responsible procurement officer of neglecting legitimacy checks.
