San Isidro inaugurates permanent UTOI police base

The Municipality of San Isidro has inaugurated a permanent base for the Tactical Immediate Operations Unit (UTOI) of the Buenos Aires Provincial Police. The new facility is designed to strengthen preventive deployment in the neighborhoods of La Cava, Santa Rita, Uruguay, and San Cayetano.

The base will house 100 UTOI officers, providing them with a permanent operational center to handle complex tactical situations. This initiative involves coordinated work between the provincial police and the Municipal Patrol Special Brigades, which utilize local territorial knowledge to conduct patrols and preventive procedures.

Additionally, San Isidro’s security infrastructure relies heavily on the ‘Ojos en Alerta’ program. This system allows residents and merchants to report suspicious activities, robberies, or violence directly to the Municipal Operations Center (COM) via WhatsApp. Currently, 37% of all security alerts in the district are received through this digital channel, enabling real-time coordination between citizens, municipal cameras, and street patrols.
