An investigation has been launched in San Isidro, Argentina, following allegations that a deceased man, José Luis Caro, remained registered as an active municipal employee. Caro passed away on December 8, 2024, following a public road accident.

The discrepancy was discovered by Caro’s partner, Yamila Benítez, while she was attempting to access social benefits. ANSES informed her that Caro was still listed as “working in white” and receiving payments from the Municipality of San Isidro under the administration of Ramón Lanús.

While the municipal records suggest active employment, Caro’s mother, Olga Rafaelli, stated that her son never worked for the municipality or any public administration, claiming he worked independently as a mobile phone provider. Authorities are now investigating how the registration occurred and who was responsible for the entry in the municipal structure.
