San José begins expansion of Barrio Chino pedestrian boulevard

The Municipalidad de San José has launched a public bidding process to expand the Paseo de los Estudiantes, the pedestrian boulevard located in the Barrio Chino district. This project is part of an urban regeneration initiative intended to prioritize pedestrian infrastructure and stimulate commercial activity in the southern sectors of the capital.

The planned expansion will extend the boulevard along Calle 9, stretching from its current end point to Avenidas 14 and 20. This development aims to connect the Chinese-themed district to the historic Liceo de Costa Rica and eventually reach Plaza Víquez.
