San José commemorates 125 years since the birth of Paco Espínola

San José de Mayo will host a series of events to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the birth of writer Francisco “Paco” Espínola. The scheduled activities include lectures, book presentations, and art exhibitions.

On October 3, a talk will be held at the Casa de las Artes regarding Espínola’s life, work, and his connection to Freemasonry. This will be followed on October 4 by the presentation of the book “Paco Espínola: El masón” by Guillermo Brum at the Espacio Cultural San José, alongside an art exhibition featuring works by local artists.

To conclude the commemorations, the Correo Uruguayo will launch a commemorative stamp in honor of the writer on October 13 at the Museo de San José. The initiative to create the stamp was promoted by Deputy Nicolás Mesa.
