San José del Guaviare relocates decommissioned vehicles temporarily

The Mayor of San José del Guaviare, Willy Rodríguez, has addressed resident concerns regarding the temporary relocation of decommissioned vehicles to a lot in the El Porvenir neighborhood. Residents and local merchants expressed dissatisfaction with the accumulation of deteriorated vehicles behind the local market plaza.

Mayor Rodríguez explained that the vehicles have been stored in various municipal facilities for decades. The move to El Porvenir is a temporary measure intended to facilitate a verification process before the assets are returned to the Sociedad de Activos Especiales (SAE). The administration stated that a final disposal procedure will be determined following this stage.

Additionally, the Mayor addressed requests to complete the construction of the local market plaza. He noted that while the project has a high execution percentage, funding gaps and technical requirements regarding the fire protection network must still be resolved. The municipality is seeking support from the national government to finalize the infrastructure.
