San Jose del Monte water complaints drop as MPBW increases supply
Metro Pacific Bulacan Water (MPBW) has reported a significant decline in customer complaints in San Jose del Monte following an increase in water production and extensive infrastructure repairs. The city government noted that MPBW, acting as an interim operator, increased average daily water production to 135.19 million liters per day (MLD) in August, a 10.5% rise compared to the previous operator, PrimeWater.
To improve reliability, MPBW has repaired over 600 of the 890 verified pipeline leaks inherited from the previous provider. Operational improvements include the rehabilitation of water treatment plants and the reactivation of three deep wells. These interventions have resulted in a substantial drop in service complaints, which previously peaked at over 20,000 chats per day in July.
The transition to MPBW follows long-standing water supply issues in the region. The city government took control of the local water district earlier this year to address persistent shortages that had affected residents for nearly a decade, leading to public demonstrations and calls for improved service.
