San Jose Sharks aim higher as rookie Michael Misa looks ahead to season

Nineteen‑year‑old Canadian forward Michael Misa is optimistic about the upcoming NHL season for the San Jose Sharks. After a rookie year in which he recorded 21 points (9 goals, 12 assists) across 45 games, Misa said the team is "building something special" and expects to take the next step toward the playoffs.

Misa praised veteran center Macklin Celebrini, who posted 115 points last season, and highlighted the summer additions of defensemen Darnell Nurse and Jacob Trouba, forward Mason Marchment, and goaltender Eric Comrie. He also noted the arrival of Swedish prospect Ivar Stenberg from the 2026 draft. General manager Mike Grier expressed confidence that the revamped roster is stronger than the previous year and could break the team's seven‑year playoff drought.

The Sharks will look to translate the blend of veteran experience and youthful hunger into improved results when the regular season begins in October.
