San Jose State defeats Eastern Michigan 27-21
San Jose State defeated Eastern Michigan 27-21 on Friday night following a fourth-quarter rally. Quarterback Luke Weaver threw three touchdown passes, including two to Cooper Hoch, to lead the Spartans to victory.
Eastern Michigan held a 21-17 lead entering the final quarter after Weaver fumbled following a sack by Ronn Hardin. However, Weaver regained control, connecting with Hoch on a 40-yard touchdown pass to put San Jose State ahead 24-21 with approximately 11 minutes remaining. The Spartans' defense limited Eastern Michigan to 25 yards in the fourth quarter, and Trajan Sinatra secured the win with a 49-yard field goal in the final two minutes.
Weaver finished the game with 316 passing yards on 23 of 39 completions. Jabari Bates led the ground game for San Jose State with 119 yards, while Hoch recorded 115 receiving yards. For Eastern Michigan, Noah Kim threw for 174 yards and one touchdown.
