San Juan de la Cruz legacy honored through cultural events in Spain

Cultural and spiritual commemorations honoring the legacy of San Juan de la Cruz and Santa Teresa de Jesús are taking place in Spain.

In Alba de Tormes, more than 130 participants gathered at the Church of San Juan de la Cruz for a continuous reading of ‘Las Moradas’ (The Interior Castle). The event, held during the patron saint festivities, featured sculptures of both saints to symbolize their spiritual and intellectual connection.

In Segovia, new guided tours titled ‘Paseo por el Huerto Espiritual de San Juan de la Cruz’ have been introduced to mark the Jubilee Year. The tour explores sites linked to the saint's life, including the convent church where his remains rest, his prayer garden, a cave used for contemplation, and local hermitages.
