San Juan del Río donates 100,000 pesos to breast cancer support group

The municipal president of San Juan del Río, Roberto Cabrera Valencia, and the president of the Municipal DIF System, Gina Sánchez Barrios, donated 100,000 pesos to Grupo Reto San Juan del Río. The donation was presented during the association’s 23rd Annual Breakfast.

Grupo Reto is an organization dedicated to providing guidance and accompaniment to individuals facing breast cancer. During the event, officials emphasized the critical importance of early detection to improve treatment outcomes, noting that breast cancer remains a leading cause of death from malignant tumors among women in Mexico.

María Fernanda González Torres, president of Grupo Reto San Juan del Río, stated that the association will continue its preventive outreach through talks in schools, businesses, and indigenous communities. The event was also attended by Tania Ruiz Castro, Director of Regional Projects for the State Government, who recognized the association's impact on patients and their families.
