San Juan del Río hosts major local festivals to boost economy

San Juan del Río has hosted and is preparing for significant local events aimed at boosting the regional economy and tourism. The recent First Coffee Festival at Jardín Independencia attracted approximately 15,000 visitors, generating an estimated economic impact of 2.5 million pesos. The event featured over 20 coffee-related establishments, bakeries, and musical performances, drawing attendees from neighboring states such as Guanajuato, Hidalgo, and the State of Mexico.

Following this success, the municipality will host Expo Acuario from October 16 to 18 at the same location. The exhibition is expected to draw up to 10,000 attendees and generate an estimated 2 million pesos in economic activity. The event will feature more than 40 stands, including local businesses, and will include educational talks on animal welfare, protected species trafficking, and axolotl care.
