San Juan del Río opens new lactation space in Ciudad Vive Oriente

The Municipal Government of San Juan del Río has inaugurated a new lactation space titled ‘Un Espacio que Abraza la Maternidad’ (A Space that Embraces Motherhood) at the Ciudad Vive Oriente facilities.

Judith Ortiz Monroy, head of the Secretariat of Women, stated that this new facility is free of charge and accessible to women without requiring formal paperwork. The space is designed to provide a dignified, safe, and hygienic environment for women who are breastfeeding or using formula. This new location joins two existing lactation spaces already operating at the Secretariat of Women and the Integral Rehabilitation Center (CRI).

During the inauguration, Secretary of Administration Oscar Alcántara Peña emphasized that supporting women serves to support the entire family unit. The event was attended by local government officials and representatives from the Sanitary Jurisdiction number 2.
