San Juan Governor Orrego discusses provincial roles in economic growth
San Juan Governor Marcelo Orrego participated in the national development forum ‘Políticas públicas para la inversión y la competitividad’ held at the Malba Museum in Buenos Aires. During the event, Orrego joined other regional leaders, including governors Rogelio Frigerio, Raúl Jalil, and Martín Llaryora, as well as Buenos Aires Chief of Government Jorge Macri, to discuss the role of provinces in driving economic change.
Orrego emphasized that creating a predictable environment is essential for economic growth and attracting capital. He noted that confidence is difficult to build and easy to lose, arguing that Argentina must ensure fiscal stability and legal security to support long-term private projects.
Regarding regional development, Orrego highlighted the positive impact of the Large Investment Incentive Regime (RIGI), particularly for strategic sectors such as mining. He also addressed global challenges including the energy transition, connectivity, and the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies, stating that the State should facilitate a business climate where the private sector takes a leading role.
