San Juan hosts 36th Argentine and International Intensive Care Congress

The 36th Argentine and International Congress of Intensive Care was held in San Juan, Argentina, from August 19 to 21. The event focused on the continuous training required for critical care professionals to manage evolving medical technologies and devices.

Dr. Fernando Ríos, president of the Argentine Society of Intensive Care (SATI), emphasized the federal nature of the congress, noting the importance of bringing specialized medical gatherings to different regions like Cuyo rather than concentrating them in Buenos Aires.

The congress had a significant economic impact on the San Juan province, with hotel occupancy reaching approximately 62% in the Greater San Juan area. The projected economic impact exceeded 1.8 billion pesos, benefiting local sectors including gastronomy, transport, and technical providers. The event drew participants from various Argentine provinces and international delegations from countries including Colombia, Spain, Canada, Switzerland, Uruguay, the United States, Greece, Costa Rica, and Italy.
