San Juan launches CENIT Award for local researchers

The Government of San Juan has announced the creation of the CENIT Award, an institutional distinction designed to recognize the excellence, legacy, and career trajectories of resident researchers and professors in the province.

Presented by Minister of Production, Labor, and Innovation Gustavo Fernández, the initiative serves as a complement to the Domingo Faustino Sarmiento Award, which focuses on academic theses. The CENIT Award aims to highlight scientific activity and the long-term impact of research work.

The selection process will involve the twelve academic units of the Universidad Nacional de San Juan (UNSJ) and the Universidad Católica de Cuyo (UCCuyo). The competition features two main categories: a distinction for established scientists with significant local impact and a stimulus award for young researchers driving emerging projects within the provincial university system.
