San Juan Police saved 29 lives in medical emergencies during 2026

The San Juan Police reported intervening in 29 medical emergencies during the first nine months of 2026. These interventions, which required cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid, and assistance with choking, intoxications, and childbirth, were critical in cases where officers arrived before medical teams.

Of the 29 interventions, 25 involved infants under two years old, and three involved children between the ages of two and four. The most frequent emergencies involved choking and respiratory difficulties. June recorded the highest number of interventions with eight cases, followed by February and July with five cases each.

Specific types of assistance included 16 cases of choking and CPR, seven cases of first aid for fever or intoxication, and five assisted births. Geographically, the departments with the most interventions were Rawson, Rivadavia, Chimbas, and the Capital district. The police force attributed their successful response to continuous training in first aid and life-saving maneuvers.
