San Juan police seize motorcycles with tampered identification
Police in San Juan, Argentina, have seized two motorcycles following operations targeting vehicle tampering and regulatory violations.
In the first incident at a control point in Sarmiento, authorities intercepted a Toyota Hilux entering from Mendoza. Inside the vehicle, officers found a high-capacity Bajaj motorcycle with a counterfeit license plate and visible tampering to the engine and frame numbers.
A second operation in the San Juan metropolitan area resulted in the seizure of a Gilera Smash 110 cc motorcycle. The operator lacked a driver's license and mandatory insurance, and the vehicle was missing rearview mirrors. Upon inspection, officers discovered the engine numbering had been filed down.
