San Juan province and Mexican university launch math education programs

The Ministry of Education in San Juan Province introduced the "Modo Matemática" plan, an integrated pedagogical proposal aimed at strengthening mathematics teaching. The initiative targets more than 88,000 students and about 2,000 teachers across 647 public and private schools, focusing on primary grades 4‑6 and secondary grades 1‑3. It includes a 60‑hour teacher‑training component, a digital repository of resources, and classroom‑based support mechanisms.

In Mexico, the Universidad Politécnica de la Región Ribereña (UPRR) held the 2026 UPRR Mathematics Competition, part of the Copa FutBotMX series backed by the Consejo Tamaulipeco de Ciencia y Tecnología and the Secretaría de Ciencias, Humanidades, Tecnología e Innovación. Rector Héctor Diez Rodríguez highlighted the contest’s role in fostering logical reasoning and problem‑solving skills, while Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya and Secretary of Education Miguel Ángel Valdez García were praised for their support of scientific and technological education.
