San Juan Province launches Garrafa Hogar gas cylinder program

The San Juan provincial government’s Garrafa Hogar initiative will travel to five departments—Albardón, Iglesia, 25 de Mayo, Ullum and Valle Fértil—from 13 to 17 July. The program, overseen by the Dirección de Defensa al Consumidor, offers families gas cylinders of 10 kg for AR$20,000 and 15 kg for AR$30,000 as part of an early winter‑containment plan. Distribution points include local plazas, community centers and municipal offices, with scheduled hours for each location.

The scheme aims to help residents cope with low temperatures by providing safe, affordable gas supplies, complementing broader provincial efforts to mitigate the impact of the winter season.
