San Juan residents can use digital DNI for legal procedures

The Ministry of Government, through the Civil Registry, has announced that residents of San Juan can use a digital National Identity Document (DNI) for legal procedures. Available via the ‘Mi Argentina’ official application, the digital version carries the same legal weight as the physical card, supported by national Decree No. 744/19.

Entities are required to accept the digital document for various services. This includes banking and financial institutions for monetary operations, land and air transport services for domestic travel, and educational institutions. It is also valid for use in health centers, social security providers, and private medical companies, as well as any public or private organization requiring identity verification.

The implementation aims to streamline administrative tasks and reduce difficulties caused by a lack of awareness regarding digital identification regulations. The mobile version utilizes dynamic validation mechanisms to ensure data authenticity and provide immediate accreditation.
