San Juan to hold memorial mass for victims of Valle Fértil helicopter crash

The province of San Juan will hold a memorial mass this Saturday at 8:45 AM at the San Juan Cathedral to honor the four local residents killed in a helicopter crash in Valle Fértil one month ago.

The accident occurred on July 29 near Ischigualasto Park while the crew was conducting a training flight for firefighting operations. The crash resulted in seven total fatalities. The local victims include Carlos Heredia, head of Civil Protection; Marcelo Videla, deputy chief of the San Juan Police; Rubén Castro, general commissioner and head of the D-9 Fire Department; and Jorge Carbajal, inspector commissioner and second chief of the D-9 Fire Department.

Other victims included pilot Matías Valenzuela and brigadiers Andrés Bosch from the Federal Emergency Agency and Rodrigo Aimeta.
