Dominican Republic police kill four suspects in separate confrontations

The Dominican Republic's National Police reported that four suspects died during separate confrontations with officers. Two of the deceased are linked to a September 12 shooting in Boca Chica that killed urban artist Diddy Glow and Jonathan Villanueva.

The individuals identified in connection with the Boca Chica incident include Wender Alcántara, known as ‘El Compa’, and Deivi Rosado Durán, known as ‘El Gordo’, who was allegedly part of the ‘Los Fantasmas’ criminal group. Other fatalities in separate police operations include Jordin Antonio Ogando and Dilson Humberto Reynoso Cruz.

In a separate incident in Barahona, the death of Willi David Gómez Batista, alias ‘Willi Piñe’, during a DICRIM intervention has sparked significant local tension. While police report an exchange of gunfire, the victim's mother claims he was unarmed and shot in the back. The funeral for Gómez Batista drew attention due to the presence of firearms placed on his casket.
