San Lazzaro di Savena inaugurates first ecological station
The municipality of San Lazzaro di Savena, located near Bologna, has inaugurated its first ecological collection center. The facility, located in the Cicogna area on via Emilia, is the only one in the metropolitan area funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
The project involved approximately nine months of construction on a 2,400-square-meter municipal area, with a total investment exceeding 1.5 million euros. Of this amount, 800,000 euros were provided through PNRR funding. The center is designed to provide a modern, functional, and safe infrastructure for the orderly disposal of urban waste.
Mayor Marilena Pillati noted that the facility addresses previous inconveniences caused by the lack of a local station and is expected to significantly improve waste management. The municipality has already seen differentiated collection rates rise from 56% to over 81%.
