San Lorenzo appoints Néstor Gorosito as head coach until 2027
San Lorenzo de Almagro confirmed the return of former player Néstor "Pipo" Gorosito as the club's first‑team coach. He will sign a contract running through June 2027, marking his second spell in charge after the 2003‑04 season. Gorosito replaces Gustavo Álvarez, who left after a dispute with the new board led by Marcelo Culotta.
The club had briefly considered Iker Muniain, but his lack of a top‑division coaching licence halted the move. Interim coach Walter Perazzo oversaw training while the board finalised the appointment. Gorosito will be assisted by Gustavo Zapata, Jorge Borelli, Marcelo Villasanti and fitness coach Sebastián Somoza. During his earlier tenure, Gorosito managed 46 matches with 22 wins, 12 draws and 12 defeats, and as a player he appeared 241 times for San Lorenzo, scoring 70 goals.
