San Lorenzo names Néstor Gorosito as head coach until 2027
Club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro announced the appointment of former player Néstor "Pipo" Gorosito as the new first‑team manager. Gorosito signed a contract that runs until December 2027, succeeding Gustavo Álvarez after his departure in late June. The club said the coach will begin duties immediately at the training complex, with no press conference scheduled for the introduction.
Gorosito will be assisted by Gustavo Zapata, Jorge Borelli, Marcelo Villasanti and physical trainer Sebastián Somoza. His second spell at San Lorenzo follows an earlier tenure in 2003‑04, where he guided the side to a runner‑up finish. Over a 20‑year coaching career he has managed several Argentine clubs and had stints abroad in Spain, Paraguay and Peru, accumulating 548 matches with a 45.6 % win rate.
The announcement was made via a video posted on the club’s official social media channels, highlighting Gorosito’s long‑standing connection to the institution and his ambition to win titles for the "Ciclón".
