Platense and Estudiantes face off in Copa Argentina quarter-finals

Platense and Estudiantes de La Plata face off in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Copa Argentina at the Estadio Norberto ‘Tito’ Tomaghello. The winner of this match will advance to the semifinals to meet Atlético Tucumán.

Platense, managed by Martín Palermo, enters the match focused on both this tournament and their upcoming Copa Libertadores quarter-final against Flamengo. Despite a low standing in the Clausura tournament, the club is seeking to extend its successful season.

Estudiantes, led by Alexander Medina, arrives with several key absences due to injury or muscle fatigue, including Guido Carrillo, Joaquín Correa, Tiago Palacios, Lucas Neves, and Jalil Elías. The club is also competing for a spot in the 2027 Copa Libertadores through this tournament.
