San Lorenzo student injured in brawl involving broken glass
A 14-year-old student was injured during a fight involving ninth-grade students from Colegio España in San Lorenzo, Paraguay. The incident occurred on Friday morning near the municipal pedestrian area, specifically on San Lorenzo Street between España and Coronel Romero.
According to police reports, the confrontation escalated after a student confronted the victim near a food establishment. During the physical altercation, the victim was reportedly struck in the abdomen and face before being attacked with a piece of broken glass found on the ground. The victim sustained a laceration to the frontal region of her head.
Emergency responders and volunteer firefighters provided initial assistance. The teenager was transported to the San Lorenzo General Hospital and subsequently moved to the Hospital Niños Mártires de Acosta Ñu for further medical studies. While the injury was serious, reports indicate she is currently out of danger.
Two other adolescents, aged 14 and 15, were identified as suspects in the aggression. Following orders from Prosecutor Ever García, they were released to their mothers and taken to the hospital for medical evaluations. The Public Ministry is investigating the incident to determine responsibilities.
